INTENTIONAL INTERIM MINISTRY
Church health consultancy service
We have two staff members who are trained Interim Ministers. At this moment we are avaliable for service.
Our itinerant ministry is also a consulting service to help churches that are experiencing a period of unhealthy things happening within their church or leadership structure. Our team have 15 year combined experience in restoring health back into churches and their congregations.
Intentional Interim Ministry is a process for a church to improve the church's health in the interim between permanent pastors or after a church split. The "intention" is the intent of the church to employ the process.
The process involves a fresh focus by the congregation and leadership team.
They examine five developmental tasks:
-
Coming to terms with history
-
Dealing with leadership and decision-making concerns
-
Re-thinking linkage with other churches and the
-
denomination eveloping a new identity
-
Committing to new leadership structure
The methods of working with the tasks are unique to each church. The result of the process can assist in restoring health back into the church after any crises.
The Australian association was formed to facilitate on-going training and development of Intentional Interim Ministries in Australia. In the first 3 years of Intentional Interim Ministry in Australia, training was carried out by the Center for Congregational Health.
If you would like more information to be presented to your leadership or denomination, we would love the opportunity to work with your denominational leaders, or church leaders to help you understand the dynamics of Intentional Interim Ministries.
